A Discord verification bot with a button
Post a verification panel in your rules channel. When a member presses the button, the bot gives them the Verified role, which you can use to unlock the rest of your channels. It runs on a slash command and a button, so it works on the Free plan.
What it does
- A moderator runs /verify setup in the rules or welcome channel.
- A member reads the rules and presses Verify.
- The bot gives them the Verified role and tells them privately.
- If they're already verified, it says so instead of doing it twice.
Commands
/verify setupPosts the Verify button in the current channel. Needs the Manage Server permission.
Before you add it
- A role named Verified, with your private channels set to require it.
- The bot's role placed above Verified in your role list.
How adding it works
Press Add to my server and Buildcord asks you to sign up or sign in. It then makes a new bot from this template, with every flow already drawn. Paste your Discord bot token, add the bot to your server with the invite link and deploy. Nothing is final: the template is an ordinary bot you can open and change.
What you can change
- Rename the role.
- Edit the panel's text to match your rules.
- Replace the button with a question members must answer, using a form.
Questions
Does this stop bots and raiders?
A button is a speed bump, not a wall. It keeps casual drive-by accounts out of private channels. For stronger checks, replace the button with a form that asks a question only a real person would answer.
Why do I need to move the bot's role?
Discord only lets a bot give out roles that sit below its own highest role. Drag the bot's role above Verified in your server settings.
