How to set up a ticket system in Discord

A ticket system gives members a private place to ask for help without cluttering your public channels. This guide sets one up with a button, a private channel and a close button.

Steps

  1. Make a Support role

In your server settings, create a role named Support and give it to your moderators. They will see every ticket.

  2. Start from the ticket template

Open the ticket template in Buildcord. It makes a bot with the command and buttons already built.

  3. Connect the bot

Paste your Discord application's token into the new bot, add the bot to your server with its invite link and deploy.

  4. Post the panel

In the channel where members should ask for help, run /ticket panel. It posts the Open a ticket button.

  5. Try it

Press the button from a test account. A private channel appears with a close button. Press it to delete the ticket.

Good to know

  • The template runs on slash commands and buttons, so it is free.
  • To keep a record, add a step before the channel is deleted that posts a summary to a log channel.

Questions

Who can see a ticket?

The member who opened it, anyone with the Support role and the bot. Everyone else is blocked from the channel.
